HTWD Thursday Predictions: WGC Accenture Match Play

With a day full of upsets, come from behind wins, and momentum shifting matches, Day 1 of the 2012 WGC Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona should be dubbed a success. In all honesty, it was one of the more memorable and exciting days of Match Play in a good while. It had a ton of drama in almost every possible way. With that said, let's get on to our predictions for tomorrow for this unpredictable tournament!

Day 2 PREDICTIONS:

Jones Bracket:

Ernie Els vs. Peter Hanson - After playing a perfect match against Luke Donald, Els should retain his solid form by beating Hanson, 2up.

Kyle Stanley vs. Brandt Snedeker - The hottest player in golf will get his revenge over Snedeker's Torrey triumph here, dispatching him 4&3.

Robert Rock vs. Mark Wilson - R&R played well to beat Adam Scott today, but he'll be no match for the steady Wilson. Mark will win it, 2&1.

Dustin Johnson vs. Francisco Molinari - DJ had to make a huge comeback against fellow compatriot Jim Furyk today to win. His momentum and extreme length should have him coast to a 3&2 win.

Hogan Bracket:

Martin Kaymer vs. David Toms - With Luke Doanld out of the way, Kaymer continues his quest to get the title that eluded him last year. Martin wins, 4&2.

Matt Kuchar vs. Bubba Watson - Kuch will be too much for the currently inconsistent Bubba. Matt should win 5&4.

Steve Stricker vs. Louis Oosthuizen - This could be one of the matches of the day. Two of the more consistent players when in form. I think Steve will win 1 up.

Y.E. Yang vs. Hunter Mahan - "Tiger Slayer" Yang is sneaky great in match play. That's why I think he'll take this match over Mahan, 2&1.

Player Bracket:

Rory McIlroy vs. Anders Hansen - Surprisingly enough, Rory was more than tested on day 1. He'll be fine tomorrow though. He'll handle Hansen, 5&4.

Miguel Angel Jimenez vs. Keegan Bradley - "Grandpa" Jimenez (as Benardo refers to him) got the best of El Nino today, and he'll take down another young star tomorrow, continuing his exquisite match play form, by a score of 3&2.

Jason Day vs. John Senden - Day is a great match play thinker, and he should be more than enough for his fellow country man. Day wins, 3&2.

Charl Schwartzel vs. Sang-Moon Bae - The reinging Masters champ is in fine form at the moment, and he should take out the little known Bae, 2&1.

Snead Bracket:

Lee Westwood vs. Robert Karlsson - Both players are playing well, but I think Lee takes down Robert here, 2&1.

Nick Watney vs. Tiger Woods - EASILY will be the spotlight match tomorrow. Although Tiger may find his game by tomorrow, I think Nick's ball striking will be too great. Watney wins, 2&1.

Mateo Manassero vs. Martin Laid - The young stud goes up against the Scot here. I think experience will beat the Italian, with Laird winning 3&2.

Ryo Ishikawa vs. Paul Lawrie - Contrary to the match above, I think the Japanese Prince will emerge victorious here. His win vs. Haas was HUGE. I think he wins it 1up.
