HTWD Picks of the Week: Zurich Classic of New Orleans

 VS

JJ: Whew! After a long drought, I finally got a point back in this Picks of the Week. Thank you Matt Kuchar! Now, off to New Orleans, where a golf tournament may be a great thing for them to get the Saints off their mind. Here, I'm picking Luke Donald, the World No. 2. I have a few reasons why I think Luke will play well this week. He always seems to raise his game when playing the best players, especially since his ascension to the elite group of golfers. Luke enjoys a challenge (see Transitions Championship), and with Masters Champ Bubba Watson in the field, he'll be facing the hottest golfer on the planet (Not to mention the other stars playing here). Luke also needs a top-7 finish here to regain his top ranking he lost 2 weeks ago, so that should bode well for him this week. It definitely will be a great tournament to watch, make sure to tune in with us!

Bernardo: This week I’m picking Bubba Watson. Bubba is coming off his first major win (Masters) and is the defending champion at the Zurich Classic. The odds are looking good for Bubba to possibly defend this week and win multiple times this year. Bubba is now the highest ranked American in the Official World Golf Rankings. Expect big things from the long hitting lefty, he has come a long way since his rookie year in 2006. I believe Bubba will play well, relying on his current momentum and brilliant shot making skills.

Recap: JJ finally earns a point after a long drought, narrowing the gap to 4 points on Bernardo.
