Valero Texas Open: Comeback Ben

Ben Curtis finds the winner’s circle after six winless seasons on tour. Curtis got to business quickly after firing a pair of 67s in the first two rounds, placing him at 10-under par. With many players in the field unable to play consistent throughout the week. All Curtis had to do is play a game of keep away from his nearest contenders, especially Matt Every who surprised many with his first round 63. Curtis made a 22 foot par saving putt on hole #17 which pretty much secured him the win. Curtis is no rookie when it comes to winning a tournament, he won the 2003 Open Championship. His clutch play on Sunday revealed he still has what it takes to win on tour.

With the absence of the crowd favorites, we were able to focus our attention on some of the not so popular players. Some notable names: John Huh (already a winner this year), Brain Gay, and Ryan Moore.

Congratulations Ben Curtis!
